Description
Measures the nitrate value (NO3-) reliably and precisely in freshwater aquariums, saltwater aquariums and ponds.
Organic nitrogenous substances in water, such as fish droppings and leftover food, are broken down in various stages, namely to harmful ammonia, toxic nitrite and finally to nitrate (NO3-) (nitrogen cycle). Nitrate is a plant nutrient, but in a concentration above 50mg/L it has increasingly harmful effects on the fish and promotes the annoying growth of algae.
