How many years your pond seal remains effective is largely determined by two factors: the material you choose and the care taken during installation.

A smooth substrate, cleared of stones and debris, is the best way to increase its durability significantly. As a general rule, you can expect a PVC pond liner to last between 10 and 20 years, whereas a high-quality EPDM pond liner can often last over 30 years.
